Book Review: Mod Podge Rocks! (and win your own copy!)

If you’re a regular around here, you know that I use a lot of Mod Podge. If it’s Podgeable, I Podge it. But I know someone who loves Mod Podge even more: my friend Amy Anderson! Amy writes the awesome blog Mod Podge Rocks!, and now she’s literally written the book on the subject. I actually got a chance to preview a proof copy of the book back in January, so I am super excited to have the finished product in my hands!

Mod Podge Rocks!: Decoupage Your World is the definitive guide to everything you every wanted to know about decoupage. The book started with some basic Mod Podge info including basic decoupage techniques and a description of all of the different Mod Podge formulas, followed by a collection of over 40 wonderfully whimsical projects.

The sections of the book are divided according to project type: wearables, home decor, and holiday projects. Through the collection of crafts, Amy and her cast of friends showcase ideas using every different kind of Mod Podge. (Those friends include Heather, my cohort from Dollar Store Crafts, who designed an amazing and fun bottle cap necklace!) And with so many different formulas each designed for use on a different type of surface, the variety of projects in the book is truly fabulous!

Not only do the projects cover a wide variety of craft types and styles, it also features items appropriate for various skill levels. For instance, if you are new to the world of Mod Podge, there is a nice selection of beginner-level projects like these kitchen jars. (I’ve always been a sucker for labeled kitchen canister sets!)

Even seasoned Mod Podgers will find the book inspirational. I’ve got my eye on this suitcase project, especially since I happen to have a vintage suitcase at the back of my closet that I picked up at Goodwill a few years ago.

So now you’re probably thinking, “Daaaang, I need to get my hands on a copy of this incredible book!” Well, I have some good news – I have an extra copy of the book to give away to one lucky reader! To enter, just leave a comment on this post. That’s it! I will close the giveaway at 12:00 AM ET on Saturday, July 7, 2012, at which time I will pick a random comment to be the winner!

What’re you waiting for? Go get Podgey!
