I collect a lot of things, and beach glass (sometimes also called sea glass) is one of those things. But even with a big collection, sometimes I just don’t have enough pieces in the right sizes or colors to make something I envision become reality. So when DecoArt sent me a big box of glass paints to try and I saw that some of the paints had a frosted finish, the first thing that came to mind was making a faux beach glass mosaic! Keep reading to find out how to make your own beach-inspired glassware, plus enter to win a prize package worth $200 and find out how you can save $5 on DecoArt glass paints so you can try this project for yourself. This is just one of many great glass paint projects being shared today; check out the links at the end of this post for even more ideas!
- Masking Tape
- Rubbing alcohol
- DecoArt Americana 3D Frost Gloss Enamels paint writers
Watch the video for a how-to on the painting technique!
If you have any trouble with the video, here is a summary of the how-to:
Step 1: Mask off the area that will be painted. Keep paint away from any place that will come into direct contact with food or drink. (Or your lips!) Wipe the area clean with rubbing alcohol.
Step 2: Use the glass paint writers to outline and fill in the shapes of glass pieces. Leave small gaps between the shapes. Work all the way around the masked off area.
Step 3: Remove tape and allow paint to dry. Follow the instructions on the bottle to cure the paint in the oven and make it dishwasher safe!
